The second piece is the follow up. When you place a brochure in someone's hand, be sure to say that you will be placing you order on such as such day and you will call them to see if they have an order. Many people take the brochure, find things that they would like to order, and forget to call! The fortune is in the follow-up. Have a contest or discount for those that call you during 8-10 when your order is due, or the day before, and make the discount less as it gets later in the day. I like to give free products to my customers, such as a lip balm I got from the demo catalog etc instead of a discount. This is give your customers incentives to call.
Each campaign hand out new brochures to potential customers, so that you have a larger base of customers to collect orders from, since not every customer is going to order every campaign.
Use your website -- Avon offers a free website, be sure to post that to friends and family to use, and new customers, via social media. Avon has free widgets that can be used. Look for other ways to gain customers, such as a local school or organization that you can do a fundraiser for.
You may even find a customer willing to collect orders and become a helper.
